Kanino is used in the same way as a Sa phrase referring to a person.
A: Kay Mary ito. B: Kanino ito? |
A: This is Mary’s. B: Whose is this? |
A: Tumawag kay John si Fred. B: Tumawag kanino si Fred? Kanino tumawag si Fred? |
A: Fred called John. B: Who did Fred call? Lit. Fred called whom? |
A: Para kay Fred ito. B: Para kanino ito? |
A: This is for Fred. B: Who is this for? Lit. This is for whom? |
Kanino -ng – whose
Kaninong bag ito? |
Whose bag is this? |
