A verb or a root expressing an action can be repeated to express intense, repeated or prolonged action. The two verbs or roots are linked by nang.
When roots are used, the POD (p. 30) is the doer of the action.
Examples:
Umiyak nang umiyak ang bata’. |
The child cried and cried. The child kept on crying. |
Tumakbo siya nang tumakbo. |
He/she ran and ran. |
Iyak nang iyak ang bata’. |
The child keeps on crying. |
Takbo nang takbo si Forrest. |
Forrest runs and runs. |
Kain nang kain ang bata’. |
The child keeps on eating. |
