Tagalog May/​Meron/​Marami/​Wala’ + Noun + Verb

The noun and the verb are linked up by na/-ng.

May babaeng dumating.

Merong babaeng dumating.

May dumating na babae.

Merong dumating na babae.

A woman came.

Lit. There’s a woman who came. / There’s someone who came who’s a woman.

Maraming babaeng dumating.

Maraming dumating na babae.

Many women came.

Walang babaeng dumating.

Walang dumating na babae.

No women came.

May project na gagawin si Fred.

May gagawing project si Fred.


Fred is going to do a project.

Also: Fred has a project to do.

Lit. Fred has a project that will be done. / Fred has something that will be done that is a project.
